Floaty pens - The fakes | |||||
| Any quality product is bound to be copied. However, Eskesen really are the best at making these pens. Below we have included a few fakes. Purists would not include them in their collection, but we believe some have their merits and, as a group, illustrate the high quality of the real thing. |

Atomium Brussels A very poor fake. The barrel shape and the clip are completely wrong. The picture is very crude. The Atomium floats in the foreground, as well as being in the background! There are no markings as to its country of origin. Compare with the genuine Atomium in the European section
Raccoon across Canada Good barrel shape and clip. Illustration very crude. The float action is poor, with the floater moving very quickly. There is no foreground object. The clip shows "Made in China"
Seal across Canada Made by the same manufacturer as the pen above. The seal is truly awful. This is the worst pen in our whole collection.
Canadian skiers Again, by the same manufacturer as above. However, the skiers look great against the mountains, and for once the fast movement suits the image. An unusual use of perspective. The best fake so far.
Canadian cable car Another by the same manufacturer as above. Like the skiers, this is a good fake.
Canadian Sea Bus Same manufacturer as above. Very crude and boring. Who would buy this? (except a fanatic?)
New Zealand A lovely present from Yannick. Slightly shorter and cruder than the real thing, but still cute. (a bit like Yannick!)

Giant floaty fishy thing This pen is a massive one foot in length! It is filled with some fishy plastic shapes. The green glitter, on closer inspection, is actually miniature frogspawn. Mmm.. Thanks Katy! To the second page of fake floaties...
